How to take care of your kimono
After wearing kimono.
1.Put the kimono on the hanger, shape it,
dry in the shade to remove sweat and moisture
in a place well-ventilated and out of direct sunlight
for at least 2 hours or up to overnight.
(When drying indoors, open a window for ventilation)
Dry in the shade → Dry kimono in a well-ventilated room that is not exposed to direct sunlight.
Make sure to do this after every time you wear it
to prevent mildew, remove wrinkles and
keep your kimono in good shape so that
it can be worn for a long time.
2.Remove dust with a soft towel
Use a clean, dry towel as a brush to remove dust from kimono.
At the same time, check for dirt, stains, etc.
Handle dust on gold leaf and embroidered areas with care.
Never rub it.
What should if you find a stain your kimono?
Please take the following measures depending on the situation.
If you find a stain
(1) Oil stains such as foundation.
For oil-based stains such as lipstick, chocolate, ballpoint pens and cooking oil,
use benzine to remove the stain.
Soak a piece of cotton gauze with enough benzine and
spread the stained area of the kimono on a cloth that can be color faded.
To remove the stained part,
dab the cloth lightly to transfer the dirt to the cloth underneath without rubbing.
If you find a stain
(2) Stains caused by liquids.
Water-soluble stains such as coffee, juice, tea, soy sauce and wine
For water-based liquid stains, use mild detergent diluted about 15 times on the spot of the stain.
As with foundation and other stains, spread out a highly absorbent cloth such as cotton and dab gently without rubbing.
Transfer the dirt to the bottom of the kimono by tapping it as if you were trying to remove the dirt from the kimono.
It is also important to pay attention to stains caused by a mixture of oil and water-based stains such as mayonnaise, butter and chocolate.
Use benzine to remove the stain, then use diluted mild detergent to remove the stain.
If you find a stain
(3) Mud stains.
If you get mud stains on your clothes, due to the rain or the bad road conditions,
first, dry kimono in the shade to remove the moisture contained in the mud and dry them.
Then apply the brush to the dried dirt area and brush off the dirt.
For dirt such as mud, you can remove most of the dirt with just a brush.

手洗いでの着物の洗い方 （綿や麻の場合）
1. 洗濯桶にぬるま湯をためて、中性洗剤を溶かします。水の量は着物がつかるくらいの量を入れるようにしてください。
2.たたんだ着物を入れてやさしく押し洗いをします。
3.全体的な汚れが気になる場合は、1時間〜2時間、つけおきする。
4.部分的な汚れが気になる箇所は、中性洗剤をつけて、やさしく部分洗いを行いましょう。
5.汚れた水を捨てて、着物を２〜３回すすぎ洗いします。着物を持ち上げるときは、繊維がほつれないようにやさしく持ち上げてください。柔軟剤を使用する場合は、すすぎ洗いの最後に使用します。
6.着物の水気をきったら、タオルドライをしる。
7.ハンガーに着物の袖を通したら、シワを伸ばし、着物を陰干ししてください。

洗濯機での着物の洗い方（綿や麻の場合）
1. 着物をたたんで、洗濯ネットに入れます。（シワにならないように、コンパクトなものが理想）
2. 着物と中性洗剤、お好きな柔軟剤を洗濯機に入れて「手洗いモード」で洗濯をしてください。このとき、脱水は通常の半分以下の時間で行うようにしましょう。
3. 洗濯を終えたら、ハンガーに着物の袖を通し、シワを伸ばしたら着物を陰干ししてください。

アイロンのかけ方（綿、麻の場合）
シワが気になる場合は
手洗い、洗濯機で着物を洗った後、
アイロンをかけてシワを伸ばしましょう。
あて布と霧吹きを用意して
着物の表側にあて布を置きます。
その後、アイロンを中温にし、
あて布の上から優しく、押さえるようしながらアイロンをかけます。
シワが強く残っているところにはあて布の上から霧吹きをかけましょう。
着物に刺しゅうや金箔の装飾をほどこしている箇所は、アイロンをあてないように注意してください。
アイロンが終わった後は、陰干しを行いましょう。

シルク着物の取り扱い方
SAISEIで取り扱っている着物は、
基本的に全てシルク、綿、麻などの
天然素材を使用しています。
その中でも、最高級のシルク素材を多く
取り扱っていますが、基本的にはシルク素材は洗濯を必要としません。
何故なら絹には、自浄作用と呼ばれる、
雑菌が増殖しない特性があるからです。
これは絹の素材特性に由来する作用であり、基本的に汗やタンパク質などは付着しても雑菌が増えないという特徴があります。
ですので、基本的には着用後は陰干しメインで着物ケアをしましょう。
それでも、長年着用した場合は、
どうしても全体的な汚れが気になると思います。
その場合にはドライクリーニングをオススメします。
もし、シルクの着物をお家で水洗いする
場合は、以下の二点に十分注意をしましょう。
（洗濯機での使用は、オススメしません）

①色落ち
シルクは、綿や麻よりも色落ちがしやすい素材です。
水洗いする際は、事前に着物の裾などで色落ち加減をチェックしましょう。
②縮みとシワ
どんな衣類でも洗濯をすれば、縮みますが、
特にシルクの場合は、水洗いをすると縦幅が2センチ〜10センチ程、縮む可能性があります。
また、シルク素材は、特にシワがつきやすい為、水洗い後は軽く水分を絞り、半乾きの状態でシワを伸ばしてから陰干しを行うと、シワが目立たなくなります。
完全に乾いたら、低温に設定したアイロンでシワを伸ばしましょう。（スチームの使用はしない）

裏技
仕上げにリンス
絹はタンパク質でできている為、人間の髪の毛と同じ成分です。
手洗いでの着物の洗い方5番のすすぎ洗いをした後、リンスを柔軟剤代わりに使い、
1.2プッシュし2.3分つけおきし、泡がなくなるまでかるくすすいだら、タオルドライをし、陰干しをしましょう。
基本的に、シルク素材の着物は、
専門の業者にお任せすることをオススメします。
ご自宅で行う場合は自己責任になります。
